We are pleased to announce the opening of our new office in Nairobi Kenya on June 10 2019. The new company will be operating under the name, Katlego Logistics, but it will still form part of the Katlego Group of companies. The Managing Director, Moses Maboi, has always had plans of expanding his company’s network into the African continent since 2010 to enable his company to compete against industry giants in the freight forwarding sector but was held back by the political instability in some of the African countries amongst other reasons.
“We’ve been approached by several international partners who needed assistance with exporting their goods into a number of East African countries. At the time we could not assist with clearing the shipments and the freight logistics thereof and referred them to other 3rdparty agents. Unfortunately, some of these 3rd party agents did not meet the kind of standards and service delivery that our international partners were used to receiving from our company”, shared Mr Maboi. With Katlego Logistics now open in Kenya, it now eliminates the need to rely on 3rdparty freight agents to do the work. Katlego’s Group of companies will now be able to offer their clients with a seamless service offering across the globe.
The Kenya Office will be handled by Samuel Gichochi, who has extensive experience in the logistics industry, alongside a team of enthusiastic and smart working individuals. Mr Gichochi is also familiar with the political climate and the legislature of Kenya which improves our knowledge bank as a whole.
Currently, Katlego Global Logistics has 11 offices located in all 9 provinces in South Africa, an office in Hong Kong and another in Dubai. Branches in Rwanda, Ghana and Tanzania are still in the pipeline as future plans.
